I just bought a senior stockman. Overall I like it so far, the only problem I have with is is the fact that it was butterknife dull straight out of the box. I looked through 10 different knives before I chose this one and they were all dull. Whats the deal, maybe it's just me but I think knives should be SHARP when u get them. I guess it's not that big of a deal, I put a good edge on it but why can't they do this at the factory?

I think that, traditionally, slipjoint manufacturers never really bothered to put great edges on their knives for two reasons. A) Cost. Naturally, it's cheaper to sell knives that haven't been honed to a great edge, because you never had to pay someone to hone 'em too sharp. And B) I think a lot of folks like different edge-types on the different blades. For instance my grandad carried a two-blade Robeson jack. He kept the smaller pen blade honed like a freaking razor  for detailed cutting and carving, etc. but the main blade was just average sharp, more durable for heavy duty cutting. Think about it this way, you had the opportunity to "customize" your knife, putting on the exact edge you wanted on all three blades.
