This past week I purchased two Case pocket knives. I'm very disappointed in the quality compared to Schrade knives, especially with the price difference. Schrade knives are an incredible bargain. I would just like to see some jigged bone handles and some "new" traditional patterns.:D

I am happy with Oldtimers. German made Bokers and similar German made knives are good but I don't think they are worth twice as much as an Oldtimer.

I would also like to see Old Timers come out with jigged bone scales. The plain old 1095 steel beats whatever Case uses, in my opinion. Schrade makes as much knife for the money as you can buy. My first knife, which I still have, was an old Schrade-Walden trapper with the old yellow handles. I have had a soft spot for Schrade knives ever since.

Yep, that 1095 does sharpen up nicely and the OT's do have a really positive snap to the blades. I'd love to see them available in bone handles as an addition to the synthetic. Maybe even a limited run of Uncle Henrys in real stag!

I'm a long time collector of knives, and a long time user of one particular fixed blade. I've just recently began picking up a few shrades here and there. Quality is tops. Like a previous poster here stated, I'd like to see more traditional patterns produced... Such as a toothpick. Hey, guys, has Shrade/Uncle Henry ever issued one of these?

Thanks... and PS...Is there a representative of Shrade Company here? I notice the Camillus forum has a couple of factory guys.

We very much appreciate the great comments and good thoughts, during the past several weeks, on our Old Timer knives, and will do our best to keep Schrade's Old Timer knives one of the best consumer values going!

Coonskinner mentioned jig bone handles as a preference. We now have four patterns we call Old Timer Classics, that have jig bone handles, polished blades and bolsters and are packaged in a two-piece collection tin. They are doing great for us. Feel free to contact us to find out where in your area they are available.

Where can I see these on the web? I noticed there's no mention of them at the Schrade web site. :( They sound great and I'm looking forward to taking a look.

Are these done with your exceptional carbon steel, or the stainless?

I saw a the trapper and the peanut on Smokey Mountain (www.eknifeworks.com). Their web maker called the trapper the peanut and the peanut the trapper. Also, I saw the trapper at a local K's Merchandise today. I would have looked at it at K's, but my 2&1/2 year-old wasn't in the mood to let me look at knives. And I think they have Shrade+ steel, but don't quote me on that. They do look great! I know it's asking alot, but it would be kinda cool to have these with 1095 steel for an option.

SMKW has several of the classics for sale. They have bone handles and the tin and look spiffy. Stainless though.

I just traded for three different Classics the OTC72,OTC94 and the OTC96........mint in the tin with the pin and paperwork...all three are Trapper patterns with the OTC72 being the mini Trapper......nice Knives......it was a great scoop from a dealer thats had them for a little while......

Cheers,
Kap :D

Those Classics in the tins are all Schrade+ models. Nothing bad about that, ok stuff for everyday use. Like the rest of you guys, I would jump all over some carbon steel models if Schrade would make some. I'd really jump if they brought back some old patterns with bone scales and carbon blades. How about a bone scaled 125OT or 25OT? Wouldn't that be cool?

I like the fact that those classics are done with a bone handle.....the S/S blades are ok......these won't be users at any rate.......display purposes only.......
I just need the other knife to complete the set!

I'm pretty sure they are on the site somewhere, if they are not, you can be sure they will be on the fourthcoming updates!

I bought one of these for myself a week ago. Man do I love it! OTGuy I assume you own one of these? I was doing some skinning with it this weekend. Fabulous knife. It has the brown-dark-brown colorings with nickel silver bolsters. totally cool.

Yep, I have the standard 2 blade model bought in very good used condition and its less well known cousin, the 225OT. Thats the one with the saw instead of the skinning blade. That one is mint at the moment, although I intend to use it this upcoming deer season. I think the model number designations I'm using are correct, if not someone will let me know. I've been keeping a eye out for the Uncle Henry versions of these folding hunter patterns, 127UH and 227UH, but they seem to go for about double the price of OT's in unused condidtion. Guess folks like the derlin stag alot. Did Schrade ever make the 227UH with a saw blade? I've never seen one, although it might be a real rare bird.
