Old,very old English stag handled knives Rope,Pruner,Lamb foot.

A description of the rope knife.

Firstly its a beast,it feels so strong and capable.

The handle is the perfect size and design for a strong, comfortable grip it just feels right.

The pull to half stop with a thunk is strong yet perfect as there is a lot of blade to pinch so even I with my weak hands I can open it with ease.

Carrying on to fully open there is another strong satisfying thunk, you feel the blade is now fully secure to use (as much as any slipjoint can be).

The balance is perfect,it feels like a tough knife designed for tough work in hard conditions.

I just wish I had a boat and some heavy rope I could try it out on,it feels like a very special, unique knife. 😁

This is the first rope knife ive seen let alone handled, just wish it was UK friendly. 😇

Oh and it’s over 100 years old as well. 😎

Remarkable. Looks like you and SteveC SteveC have similar knives.

The rope knife maker, mine could be from the 1800s.
