Old Western auto supply knife with water damage

Hi I found this old Western Auto supply knife in a tackle box and I plan on restoring it but I'm new to this and was wondering if its worth it and how I should go about it.

I agree. If it's worth your to time to make it prettier, only you can answer that. It went improve its function.

Thanks for the replies, yes the handle is great, I was alittle worried about the grooves in the blade making it weak but they arent that deep. I may sand it down a little to make it look a little nicer and sharpen it.

I'd not sand or grind the blade. I'd sharpen it, oil it, and use it. Looks fine the way it is.

ok cool I wont sand it down, its actually very sharp it was in a old decrepit leather sheath which is why it probably has the damage. Thanks

Those "damage" marks give it an attractive character and natural beauty imho.

I (actually my Dad) bought a 22 rifle at western auto... I was 14 years old.
