Older Queen Knives...The start of a royal relationship!

Nice Barlow, bdev. Are you planning on carrying it? I picked one up at a pawn shop some weeks back. Mine isn't in as good shape. There's a crack in the bone running all the way down, though because of the pin placement I don't suppose any of the cover will come off. I don't know how rare/collectible these are, but I figure I can't damage it too much more.

I only started accumulating Queen when they came out with the Cocobolo line. They caught my eye but they quickly moved on to Maple after that? Nice knives all including the latest line with ATS 34, Lanyards and opening studs on black linen micarta. The Cocobolo has only gotten better looking over the years and I wish I had a set rather than a few of this, and some of those.

They surprise me sometimes. After I began liking the simple Soddie line they came out with a lockback version and I had to have that then.

I still like their D2. It's very consistent in performance from one knife to another.

I started getting into slipjoints around 2007 (a newbie)
Most of the knives I purchased then were Queen
So I was lucky enough to get the end of the Cocobolo, white stag-bone, and the Delrins in 'Black Cherry', and Forest Edge

But no old ones

PKJ- I'm afraid your fixed blade is out of place -it'd be better at my place:plove the Q bolster stamp and that gutsy big blade-
Heres mine- Winterbottom is a very pleasant bone style i think-I'd love to know what wood they used on the Rawhides also.

Here's a Queen Jack stamped Queen City. Dates from 1922-42. It's 3 1/4" closed and has early Winterbottom Bone. I can't find this pattern in any of my books. It looks like a #10 Heavy Jack but smaller. Guess I'll ask the Queen historian.

Update - I emailed David Clark, the Queen Historian, and he said this knife was made in the 1930's. The early Winterbottom bone was used from 1930 through the start of WW2. There's a great article about the Winterbottom company but I can't post it here because it is on a dealer page and the dealer is not a paid member. If you want the URL, send me a PM and I'll forward it to you.
