:D Thinking about a new "nasty" looking knife to add to the collection(ha, I wish I could call it that!) and did an ebay search.

Found some that come in sheaths and others with pocket clips. Not sure which to get.

Opinions from those that owned/still own them would really help.

Thanks guys and gals!
Erin.

I've got one of each, a Vaquero Grande with the Kydex sheath and a newer one with the pocket clip. No real difference, since the handle is so long, the clip doesn't interfere with my grip.

I did find with the clipless model that I didn't need the sheath. It rode in my right front pocket nicely, no shifting around. But with the clip, I can carry it in my back pocket, too.

Wicked blade. My pocket machete.

I have the older vaquero w/ the sheath and honestly dont like it. the sheath is enormous and for every day carry, I just throw it in my back pocket by itself . If I had my choice I would definately get it with the pocket clip.

I have some of the Vaqueros with the nogales clip point blade I picked up on close out through Smokey Mountain Knife Works. One was the discontinued 5" blade model with no clip but a carry case of nylon made to go on your belt vertically or horizontally. The other was a 6" model that came in a kydex sheath that clipped to your belt. I can't say I much care for the kydex sheath model. The nylon one was pretty cool though.

One other thing of note: the 5" one I got had the old style serrations on it that were easier to sharpen. I much prefer that over the new ones with the little pointy teeth that break off easily. I'd suggest if the one you are looking at has the old style serrations to buy it.

For what its worh putting a clip on them is no big deal. I installed pocket clips on both of mine because the cases are just too bulky, especially this kydex thing.

Thanks guys!

Was concerned the older models might have been made with cheaper quality materials.

Now I juts need to decide how "I" want to carry it...Choices.:D
