WAY too large and too heavy to be an arrowhead. The shaft would have to be huge to balance it. It is definitely not a point for an arrow.

or are those barbs early attempts at gutting hooks for this period?

That's what I once thought but have had more than one anthro tell me it's not a projectile point.
