From what I could find- Lewis Cunningham Thompson, owner and operator of LC Thompson & Co of Pottsville PA, a hardware store, retailer and wholesaler. In operation from ~1866 to 1918 when Mr Thompson passed away at age 82.
So based on the leads above I found the following-
HARDWARE HOUSE OF L.C. THOMPSON.
The wholesale and retail hardware house of Mr. L.C. Thompson,
at the corner of Center and Market streets, Pottsville, an illus-
tration of which is given, was established by Messrs. Stichter &
Thompson in 1856. Ten years later, Mr. Thompson became the sole
proprietor, and as such carried on the business for several
years, until his brother, Heber S. Thompson, became associated
with him and the firm was known as L.C. Thompson & Co.

A lot of them didn't!! I'd say most did not!!Didn't most knife companies leave some kind of trade mark stamp or something to show they made it.
I thought they would have some kind of stamp,I'm surprised they didn't.its hard to comprehend the reasons to not want your mark out there.A lot of them didn't!! I'd say most did not!!
That was more than 100 years ago. Things were very different then.....I thought they would have some kind of stamp,I'm surprised they didn't.its hard to comprehend the reasons to not want your mark out there.
That's carpet beetle damage, which means the handle scales are cattle horn. T-AGood question, maybe rosewood? I took some photos earlier to post them. Looks like something got a little hungry with it!

I am no wood expert at all though. Any insight appreciated greatly.
I Google about the carpet beetle and horns, what I don't understand is does the larvae lay dormant, then after the horn handles are placed on the knife a few months later or a year later does the larvae start its life cycle,or did the carpet beetle attack the horn handles while in storage. That's carpet beetle damage, which means the handle scales are cattle horn.
