Oldies but Goldies

Darned if that one isn't very well hidden, like it should be. :thumbup: Those relieve cuts are a clever little feature. I appreciate when they were used to keep a sleek profile.

There is no question, the cutlers cared more about the details then. And God is in the details!:)
Why do anything, if you are not going to do it to the best of your ability?!

The next several posts will be a tribute to the knives and photography of our friend Mark. Over a year ago we hatched a plot to produce a Calendar featuring Golden Oldie Schrades. Some of you will recognize the pics, others get to enjoy them for the first time. Sorry I didn't make enough for everyone, but I would have only lost more money by going into a second printing!!:p
I lament the fact that the year is almost over, and I don't have another knife calendar to replace this one, when it runs out in 2-3 weeks . . . . .sniff.:( Guess I'll have to look at Girls, or Muscle Cars or. . . . . . . .

Heavenly Days McGee!

I don't know what is better, the knives or the photography, Mark, you rock, and Charlie thanks for the nice Saturday Surprise. If you have another one of those calendars to sell, I would buy one and live in the past! Seriously.

Hal

What camera and lens are you using to take those great photos and what are you using for lighting? No glare on blades, detail superb. Thanks for posting!

Those are some of the most beautiful pictures I have ever seen! Both quality and subject are just magnificent. I'm with Hal, if you have an extra calendar to move, just say the word. The pictures of those beauties are well worth it. Mark, gorgeous collection you have there. Very nice indeed!

Well, Charlie... I am not asking for anything... I am just sitting here sorta giggling. Maybe I'll go upstairs and make some popcorn...

No more calendars, but here are some more giggles! Just arrived today!

Along with coined liners all the way around, the 4-blade has more of those mysterious numbers sometimes found in a tang stamp.
:confused::confused:

It's been a while for more oldies, and these are posted elsewhere, but they belong here too!
I was able to select these 10 from a collection of 37 knives that was being sold in Texas.
Some in this post, and some in the next post;

Posting for a friend, a fortunate one at that! Here are two time warp knives that look fresh off Schrade's production line! Both rare, you don't see many English Jacks. I bought one off Ebay a couple of years ago, and immediately got two email offers at a substantial profit. The stainless jack is rare because the public didn't trust stainless back before WWII, so Schrade made relatively few of them. Enjoy them please!!
Mark is indeed a very lucky guy. Those knives are GORGEOUS! :cool:
