Olivewood Izula

olive is a blast to work with, I used to do alot of woodworking and it's a beautiful wood that is relatively easy to manipulate.

Those both look great with wood on 'em. I have the same neckers w/para cord wraps, which just doesnt compare to wood (or bone). Nice work!

I put a bamboo spacer inside the handle, and the screws go through these. Also it screws into the other slab. But no metal cylinder or anything. Next one I'll make even better. I just didn't have the best screws to work with. I did fill it with epoxy, so it should be sufficient. I've used my Becker very hard, and it showed no disadvantages or flaws. But I guess time will tell.

Thanks for the feedback. If you could find sex bolt/mating screws with the hex drive holes rather than slotted heads, I think you'd be in business.

Just received my 3rd Izula.
It's the tan version...

Can anybody recommend which wood to use, this time?
I actually now think that the shiny olivewood version would be good, but looking for suggestions nevertheless.

How about some variety of tropical wood? Since it's named after a tropical ant, and RAT trains in the jungle. Not sure what kind of wood that would be, but maybe it'll get the ball rolling in that direction.
