I have an olson, bi-metal band saw blade, meant for cutting 3/32"+ and 20 days after I bought it, I heard two thuds every revolution going through. At first I thought it was just the seam going through, but after examining the blade, there were portions (1/2 inch long) of missing teeth! I'm sure once the first one broke, the rest just got damaged much faster, but I've only been cutting mild steel with it. There have been less than 50 cuts with the blade too. Has this happened to anyone else? And how is Olson's customer service?

(I bought the blade at Rural King if that makes a difference with warranty/return policies)

I haven't used Olsen personally, but have experienced it with Lenox from cutting 1/16" thick stock that i guess teeth wise wasn't enough to cut that thin of stock. Broke a bunch of teeth off.

How many teeth per inch is your blade? I have never heard of Olsen myself, but that doesn't mean much !

it's a 24 teeth per inch blade, and I've just been cutting 1/8" mild steel, so there shouldn't have been a problem.

yeah that sounds odd ! I use a 10/14" to cut 1/8" and up and find no problems even with that few teeth ! lol..the 1/16" thickness is another story !

What do they cost per blade or per inch for custom sizes?

I have only ever used Lenox Diemaster 2 blades ....can't complain !

Olson is sending me a new blade, so it's better. I just bought a new blade (same size), and it was $28 from Rural King.
