Made this about a year ago for myself but haven't put her to use so figure it is time to let her go...
Austempered 5160 at 56 RC and then the spine was drawn down using the hot brass cold sand method to a 50ish RC... she is 1.5" wide at the plunge cut and the widest section is 1.75" towards the end. The blade and tang are distally tapered.* A full .250" at the ricasso tapered to less than .125" at the tip, giving her both stiffness and balance. The balance point is 3 inches ahead of the guard, making her very lively in the hand.*
