Very true about the BS factor, however, that BS is what makes knife companies their money! Lol As far as the rc-5 being a camping/hunting knife, it sure can be. It would be a damn good one too. I'm a big fan of the thick blade and the way that the blade is not as long as the rc-6. The rc-5 will do any chore around the campsite you want it to do. It will also become useful when you've escaped from a POW camp from behind enemy lines and you are evading through tough terrain and trying to survive :) I'm sure that'll happen to most of us in our lifetimes.
 
Well this is what I am looking for in a 3-4 inch fixie right now, now that a RAT5 and the Becker set is on the way I'd like a quality 3-4 inch knife for carving and skinning and dressing. I am actually working on a photoshop project for the design a rat thread for a RAT SH-1, Survival Hunter, to be a smaller more precise companion to the bigger field knives.
