omg Zero Tolerance clips are way too tight

Anyone else find the clips on ZTs so tight that it becomes a chore to remove the knife from the pocket as well as clip it into the pocket in the first place?

Thinking about slightly bending it. I mean I love a snug fit for security sake, but this is ridiculous. Short of ripping my pocket to shreds, the only way for me to remove the knife is to squeeze my index finger under the clip and try to pull the knife out.

Knife is great. I love it. Clip not so much.

Which knife do you have?

I have a ZT 0400 and I don't have an issue with the clip; maybe that's because the clip side is smooth aluminum.

I have a ZT 0350. The clip is really tight. I have to put quite a bit of force on the clip to pull it open enough to pull the knife out of my pocket.

I agree they come very snug, but I greatly appriciate that. just give it a little yank, if you go too far simply take it off and bend it back on the corner of a table. I like them coming snug so that I can adjust them when they come (way better than too loose).

Yep. Thinking about vicing it down on my table vice after I find something suitable to cover the metal so the teeth from the vice don't dig into the clip metal.

Yes, my 200 came too tight also. I removed the clip and then pushed it downward on to my kitchen table to "loosen it up". It didn't move that much but it was enough that I don't have to wrestle it out of my pocket now.

You could also consider waiting until Gavin Hawk gets these into production (should be soon). The design is very secure but easy on the pocket.

Could you explain how that clip works? Or is there some other kind of thread I can read? That clip looks weird. Looks as though you can clip it from either end. :D

EDIT: After looking at that picture longer, it looks as though you press on the back where the cut out is, which acts as a lever arm to push the clip open. Correct? Like a regular clamp used to secure laundry on a clothes line.

From what I see, you press down on the tab thing at the top and it'll open the clip up.

Looks neat!

When you said soon, what's the time frame, and how much will they run? Would I have to send my knife to Mr. Hawk so he can measure the clip holes? Or, are those clips made for the ZT line?

They'll be made specifically for the ZT line. The production ones will be black and cost $30. He's hoping to have the first batch done within a month. Just send him a message for more info.

I don't know what his email is or his user name. Any contact info?

idk 30 seems kinda high for just a simple pocket clip to me.

Yea. I was hoping for around 20 bucks. I know I could spend time and get metal and make something similar. My brother often gets metal machined for custom parts for his car. Still...that would require time. 30 bucks isn't so bad when you factor in time.

It's on that link. The name's blademaker.
Thanks. Somehow, I missed that link earlier. I emailed him.

it's def worth it if u got to make it yourself and your not good at metal work like me. i still would rather see it around 15-20

The clip on my 302 came very tight, but I'd rather it be too tight than not tight enough. You should be able to bend it to your liking.

Hey Guys. . .
So here's the break down on the price. . .I'm really selling the clips for $24, but after you add shipping $3, take out paypal fees $1.10 and coating $2. . . It's just easier to call it $30. Also the small runs keep the price high. . .someday when i'm tooled up to make a ton of these the price will come down :D
