I'm not too keen on some of the "testing" I saw . First off cutting aluminum is about like cutting wood . = totally possible to cut THICK 3/4 " slabs of annealed aluminum on a table saw using standard old woodworking saw blades with no damage to the blade tooth edges .
Some of the destructive testing was not really relevant to a knife in use .
Lastly I once wanted to turn a long Opinel #12 into a short blade knife (that had a big handle)~ 2 1/2 inch blade . I cut about half way through the blade with an abrasive wheel cut off wheel then put the blade tip end in a vise . I had to bend the blade over ninety degrees three times before the blade snapped off . I expected the blade to go into the plastic state pretty quick then bend it back and forth until the grain fatigued and broke off . In reality the blade came back to STRAIGHT every time. Impressive / and practical heat treat for a super inexpensive knife . By the way this was the Carbon steel not stainless .
After I posted the video, someone commented that since the blade broke from that test, it means it snaps too easily. That made me wonder—do you guys agree with that, or do you see it differently?
Sorry if I missed what alloy you are using .
For example a 3V blade would probably have survived it all and just laughed at you ( some exaggeration there but not much) .
A REX 121 blade would have snapped like glass in little time . . . but would have been able to take a curl or two off the spine of the 3V knife blade .
Kind of depends on your intended uses for the knife .

There was a better , more well rounded video from over a decade ago but I couldn't find it yet . Something like a Frag Monkey knife . A folder no less . After practically demolishing an abondoned wear house with it (bit of an exageration but he cut all kinds of stuff successfully) the last thing he did was beat it ninety degrees into a wood telephone pole and stood on the knife and bounced up and down . . . you know . . . can't reach the top of a wall to escape ? . . . just beat your knife into the wall and use it as a ladder rung .
