? on Buck 119 steel

Thanks for all the good info guy's. I bought the knife at Academy, still have the receipt. I wonder if perhaps Buck just had some left over sheaths from the 100yr Anniversary and used them till they were gone for the next year? The box looks like any other normal Buck 119 box. Only the sheath has the anniversary marking. I am by no means a collector or very knowledgeable about Buck knives. I have a few 110's, my 119, and that's about it. That's why I came to ask the experts. I really do appreciate all the information you guy's have given. THANKS!!

Yes, I believe that Buck uses up stock...here is an example of 100yr Anniversary 110s that I've accumulated...the top and bottom 110s are of special significance here.

The top has the 2001 tang stamp with the 100yr medallion. The bottom 2003 tang stamp. Also the second from the top has the anvil(2002) but no medallion:rolleyes:. Preston

Preston, Thanks for the photos . They were offered w/ the engraved model with "100 yr. Anniversary" on the blade ?
Your top one is rare . As there were a few 2001 "test" models that made it out of the factory for salesmen to show and take orders . I have one like yours and with the engraving on 'both' sides of the blade . Very rare ! I think there were 4 models chosen for the 100 year Anniversary stamping . The 112, 110, 501 and 119 . Someone correct me if I'm in error . DM ;)

David, I think that I have a 525 with the 100 Year Anniversary printed on...not engraved. I know I have the 501 that came in the clam packing w/box etc. I think that it is also printed. The only one I have that might be engraved is the oak handled Hoyt or is it Al Buck?

I know that someone posted a pic of a very nice 532 that may have been engraved. I thought to myself...I want that:D.

I'll dig thru stuff tomorrow as I have to transfer some to a different safe and let you know what I find. Maybe start a new thread? Preston

Preston, Printed on/engraved . Thats what I was meaning its some process they do and not actually engraved . Perhaps, the 532 was included in the 100 yr. Anniversary knives as that is Chuck's favorite . The Heritage Series knives were very close to the 100 yr. Anniversary knives . Just looking at the models chosen . DM

Let see Dave, there were 32 of those charcoal 119s made. I bought several as a premium steel 119 is damn rare but I'm down to just two plus that Ironwood custom.
Ironwood and ATS34 with mirror finish.
