Wanting to add a lanyard on my Gerber STL 2.0. It’s very small, and I have large hands. What is the best material, and how do I go about doing this? Pictures coming soon...

(I was thinking paracord?)

The most common knots to use are snake knots (easy), noose knots (aka coil knots), and diamond knots (difficult).

550 paracord will work great. Tossing on something to serve is a lanyard bead is not required, but makes it look more unique.

The orange here one uses a noose knot with the ends trimmed off. The other has a couple snake knots and one diamond knot on the end. 20200908_054823~2_resize_34.jpg

You can even do something very simple, like the loop on this leather lanyard. It'll still work.

Instructables is a good spot for this too. It's pretty easy to do when you get the pattern down.

Diamond knot isn't too bad if you tie a carrick bend first.

Should I be concerned that when I put the cord through the knife, and when the blade is closed, that the blade is almost touching the cord?

I was thinking this could be bad if it cut the cord? (Pictures take forever to upload, sorry, no pictures...)

If it's almost touching or just barely touching, there's no problem. Most open back construction knives get pretty close to touching the blade to cordage.

Ok, so it seems to be OK. I have the knots tied and all, but how to I finish it off!? The tutorial I found was like for a craft thingy, lol:

It does really look good so far. I got the length right, just don’t know to finish it.

If you meant “LUMIX”, then yes, it’s a ThinkPad LUMIX T470s.

It was just a good back drop at the time, lol.
