Recommendation? On lanyard?

Here we go! Looks great, I’m happy with it:

Obviously going to trim and singe the ends. May look into getting some black 550 later down the road...

Another question: Where is the beet place to the beads for the lanyards? And am I look for any brand/material specifically?

Try Etsy or Amazon. But the first option has a ton of variety.

Search Lanyard Bead or Paracord Bead.

The one I’m looking at now is pretty sick. It’s a spartan helmet. Pretty good deal though... $10 for a 5pc set.

I was looking for a punisher one, or a skull, but no luck to so far.

I did see those, but then ones I looked at, seemed to big for what I’m going for here. I’ll look some more... thanks!

Just a heads up, you have made a fob, not a lanyard.

Lanyards are loops that are static or adjustable, and can be used to wrap around your hand or wrist to retain the knife or tool.

That said, you look like you are on the right track!
PheonixKingZ PheonixKingZ , He is right. You have made a fob. However, the term “lanyard” is commonly used for both.

The verbal battle of lanyard vs fob comes up often around here. When it does, grab some popcorn and start reading. It can be very entertaining.

I’m really liking it so far, much better than that super small, thin handle!
I will assume you are talking about your SAK Pioneer.

There is an Alox model called a Farmer. It is the Pioneer with a saw added to it. Many people feel it is the best Alox for comfort in hand.

There is also a Pioneer X.

Here's the fob setup I use, it's just a piece of gutted Paracord made into a loop with a Zeppelin bend, then girth hitched around a non locking carabiner. I originally used these setup on a Spyderco native back in college (2008ish) after the clip kept catching on stuff and getting pulled out of my pocket. Then to a Benchmade deja Vu, that was lost (stolen on a lunch break using it to cut cheese I think). A paramilitary 2, and now to my go to knife... The humble Douk Douk. The white cordage is just Paracord guts lashed around the loop to keep the bail on the knife from sliding around. Yours looks pretty good so far... Keep trying and if you're anything like me I'd have one on every knife I could.

I guess I should add that I clip the carabiner to my belt loop... Bucket harnesses and climbing saddles have a nasty habit of snagging on pocket clips and sending them to parts unknown.
