So I meant to post this for awhile now.

I'm a big fan of Emerson knives like most folks here. I don't' believe or see any QC issue stuff that's being debated and I stand by my previous statements- "No FF issue, no QC issues period. They are great knives.

However, I don't like the way Ernest Emerson is treating his customers. He never gave any of the complainers a benefit of doubt or has he ever mentioned or offered to have the knives sent in. Irregardless of whether the those complainers are being fair or unfair to the brand image- he should have offered to correct the issue. Instead he just kept on calling them liars.

I really don't think his tactic is going to work in the long run. He really alienated a lot of customers here. Me included. I never saw any QC issue with his knives, but now I can see deeper bigger issues behind the man running the company. (Whose head is in the clouds)

I agree. I've never owned any Emersons, but I've heard of plenty of QC issues, and the people from whom I heard the stories do not have a reputation for lying. As someone in the main thread put it, the post came across as abrasive. Whatever happened to "the customer is always right?"

Also, irregardless actually doesn't mean anything, but most people use it to mean "regardless" :D

What the hell are you talking about?? Each knife comes with a card explaining the warranty/guarantee. None of these whiners ever bothered to send their knife back to Emerson to have the issue corrected. If they are not going to send it back, how the hell is he gonna fix it? This is just getting downright stupid. :jerk it: This crap is the reason the rest of the internet thinks BF is filled with a bunch of losers.

Ernest is first and foremost a man of action and then a businessman. He just tired of the noise here and spoke his mind like a man, as I'm sure he would in person given the same opportunity. It's a wonder it took him this long and that speaks well of his patience.

He is not stupid and did not insult his entire customer base. He's one of the best businessmen in the knife world.

Try this:
Basically, if the knife breaks or is seriously flawed, send it back to his company and they'll make it good.

If you don't like the knives, don't buy them anymore.

If the knife breaks or has a major flaw and you don't send it back or if you continue to buy a product you don't like, then you have a serious problem that won't be fixed by pissing and moaning on a forum.

And if somebody points out your problem and you get insulted, then you've got another problem to boot.

Ernest is not the one with the problem(s).

I did, with one of them.
Blanket statements tend to be very retarded.

Well I'm planning a purchase and from what I've read, I'm going to get a kick ass knife. Good enough for me.

I explained my issue(s), and actions w/ EKI on the 'bull....' thread. Am I still to spend my own money on having the problems solved? If EKI wants to reimburse me for the expenses incurred on returning a second defective product, fine and dandy. Otherwise, I can, and will, buy elsewhere.

Never bought an emerson and i dont think i will. think its kinda sad that a hot headed knife co owner has to get on here and defend his product.

Just picked my second Emerson in as many days. New to the Emerson line and have a third one in the mail (CQC-7V).

So far, I've been very impressed with the tank like build on each of the first two I've bought.

My only complaint is that's it's not easy finding product that's available to buy!

Mr. Emerson speaks what is on his mind. Whether I like what he says or not, I can respect that.

When I met him at the Plaza Custom Show, he portrayed the same personality that he does online. And I have no doubt he would back up everything he says here.

Sometimes you really need to meet a person face to face to see them for who they are. I have no problem with Mr. Emerson.

You don't know anything about that. Unless you work for Emerson warranty dept. In that case, you'd be biased.
Besides, complaints about out of the box product are absolutely legit and whether or not it(defective product) gets sent back to maker to fix the issue, and how they fix it are two different things.

This crap is the reason the rest of the internet thinks BF is filled with a bunch of losers.
And you know that how? Spending all day on the rest of the internet?

I support Mr. Emerson fully but that really dosnt mean squat, What matters is I spend my hard earned money on his products and I carry them in situations where their failure could lead to very very bad things happening. In short I trust my life to Emerson enough said.

Jip, and no amount of time in front of a screen or keyboard will ever tell you enough about a person. Realised that today. There is no substitute for face to face. Changed my perspective on a few people after meeting them the first time.
