So I meant to post this for awhile now.
I'm a big fan of Emerson knives like most folks here. I don't' believe or see any QC issue stuff that's being debated and I stand by my previous statements- "No FF issue, no QC issues period. They are great knives.
However, I don't like the way Ernest Emerson is treating his customers. He never gave any of the complainers a benefit of doubt or has he ever mentioned or offered to have the knives sent in. Irregardless of whether the those complainers are being fair or unfair to the brand image- he should have offered to correct the issue. Instead he just kept on calling them liars.
I really don't think his tactic is going to work in the long run. He really alienated a lot of customers here. Me included. I never saw any QC issue with his knives, but now I can see deeper bigger issues behind the man running the company. (Whose head is in the clouds)
Did you really just do a review on a person?
I'm a customer. When I sent in my knife for repair no one called me a liar?
If I had personally called EKI to express my feelings about said product I really don't think I'd have been called a liar..
though he may be calling some unnamed forumites who've been badmouthing his company liars
I will say that Mr. Emerson was very professional in the e-mail communications with me regarding the repair on my Combat Karambit, and I only had to pay shipping there, not return.
It also returned to me very stabby and sharp.
I have no issues with the warranty; I think it's fine.
I just didn't like the tone of a certain recent thread; it just wasn't cool, and I doubt it advanced things in a positive way.![]()
Interesting. What kind of repairs did it require and did you have to pay for sharpening?
prehaps some folks should get out from behind their computer, enter the real world and MEET The Entire Emerson Team at a knife show.
If I am reading this correctly, the main statement in the original post, point's more toward philosophy of business, rather than quality.
I'm not sure I would buy anything if I actually knew anything about the "Man behind the business" We could start with Henry Ford or Walt Disney. Without getting too political here I just want to ask, how many other business owners as transparent as Mr. Emerson? I'm sure there are a few, but not that many.
Cheers
I would think you're correct. The main problem I see with Mr. Emerson has to do with how he treats some of his customers, but who am I to insult a God.
Anyone who dares uttering any blasphemous remark about Mr. Emerson which casts him or his company in a bad light, even if it proves to be accurate will be met with lethal force - I'm the lord thy God.
Clearly, I'll be going straight to hell![]()
