Yesterday was moving day, today I wake up to find myself in a new home, for the first time in a decade.

Stuff I have that needs to be mailed out, will be mailed out next week. Prizes that need to ship, will do so as well.

Since the Gathering, I have been working and packing, so, bear with me, I'll be back in full swing, once my life's accumulations are unboxed and set aright.

I moved a couple of months ago, not a fan, so much sympathy your way.

Congrats on the new pad :).

Its true that moving usually sucks, but it's usually for some good reason so it kinda balances out. Since I'm still in school, I've moved quite a bit. This is the 5th place in 4 years.

Anyway, don't hurt your back doing anything stupid while unpacking, and I hope your little ones adjust well :).

I heard he moved more north. where moose run free

Where do moose live?

Moose prefer cool climates and places with a lot of fresh water. They are found in some of the northern most states in the U.S. such as Wyoming, Montana, Maine, and Minnesota. We are fortunate here in the border country because moose are found all over this area. Moose prefer old mature forests filled with spruce, aspen, and willow thickets. In the summer it is quite common to see moose swim across lakes and ponds to find food. They spend much time munching on catkins and grasses that grow in the lakes. To make sure they obtain enough nourishment out of the grasses they eat the entire plant, including the roots. In the summer, moose usually live alone. Sometimes they will meet up at common feeding area and THE MALES ARE KNOWN TO GROUP UP AND PLAY WITH EACH OTHER. One of their favorite games is called "sparring". This is when they push each other with their antlers. It is rare for moose to actually fight. The pregnant females are usually found alone. In the winter, moose will sometimes form herds to simplify travel through the snow to find feeding areas.

I love moving and going somewhere new. Still trying to figure out where to go come June. I don't have kids or keep much in the way of possessions, mostly just tools and gear so it's easier for me than other people.

This sounds nice and peaceful! As my 2 little ones are currently screaming in the background about some damn chips........

Never fun, looking at doing the same soon with another baby on the way, hopefully further from Chicago with some more land. It is nice starting with a fresh slate and organizing and purging crap though...

Foots on the mend........but taking its sweet ass time. Doesn't help all the added stress I been putting on it lately. Doesn't look like I' be seeing a resting period for a while, double shifts at work, holiday work, and unpacking and settling in.

Unpacking and settling in would take a month at least, throw the work in on top of that, and damn....

I start a new med tomorrow, should lower my uric acid levels, and help me get over this shit sooner.

New place is nice, I gotta hot tub in my bedroom, kids have their own rooms, and its nearly double the floor space as before. Only downside, it ain't mine and I don't make the rules regarding the community I live in, which is hard, considering I've owned my own house and land for the last decade......

No outdoor fires, no wood piles to play in, and I'm 20 min further from the mountains. Ma Gurlz have made several friends already, and love it here. Good stuff.

Make the girls happy first. Smart move. You cant even have an outdoor fire in one of those raised, contained fire pits even if you are "cooking"?

Nope. Gas or charcoal grills only, in good shape, no rust. Yeah, I'm serious.

I takes the good with the bad. Just got out of a soak in the hot tub. This could work.

Now, if I could just get LadyMoose to stop cleaning and unpacking, and get her in her night clothes........or out of her nightclothes.......

All would be the better.

Get on the board, if there is one.

Congrats on surviving the move. I'm sure you'll make the most of the new place.

Moving sucks, my condolences. It's nice once you start to choose where all your various do-dads are going to go in your new place though. You get a chance to really reorganize and reassess.
