Well i just submitted my paper work for becoming an American Bladesmith Society Apprentice. Now comes the long road to the JS.

It may be long but it sure is fun!!!
Congrats for starting the jurney.

Now is the best time in the history of the group for new faces to join looking for guidance and good information. The ABS is out-growing much of its regional limitations as it becomes not just a national but an international organization. I couldn't be more pleased with how much they are embracing their role as an educational organization by opening up to as much solid information as they can while weeding out the hocus pocus. I honestly never thought I would say such things about the group 20 years ago, but things have and do change. Just remember this about any such organization- you can only get as much out of it as you put into it.

Welcome JT. Its a long enjoyable journey It was wise to start early like you did. Try to make it to as many hammer-ins as you can.

Welcome JT, I look forward to seeing you in the future. It is rewarding and a lot of fun. I will second the hammer in attendance. They are great weekends.

Hi friends,

Hope this isn't considered a high jack, but JT, you inspired me, so I finally plopped the do-re-mi down too. Being from Hawaii, I have an even harder time to make it to hammer-ins than you do. Fortunately these guys are a real cordial bunch. For instance, Indian George organized and hosted one for me last time I was in New England (where my folks live).

You Journey Smiths and Master Smiths are TRULY inspirational. I've enjoyed hobnobbing with you on the forums. Hope I get to in person some day!

All the best, Phil
