2 choices after 2. Didn't think of the other
which was TREAD.

NYT Average: 3.2. So, I'd call this a Par 3.

There's a Wordle archive?

The NYT "asked" the operators of websites that held themselves out as a Wordle "archives" to "voluntarily shut down" their websites (under threat of suit) when it first acquired the rights to the game a little over a year ago.

See: The Wordle Archive is Gone

So, there was a short period when you couldn't find past info about the words used in the game but new Wordle "archive" sites have since been created and the NYT apparently has not attempted to shut them down yet.

-----------------------------------

There are of 2 types of Wordle "archives:

1) Those which allow you to play any past game by just entering its # (or randomly, if you prefer) without knowing what the answer is; and,
2) Those that give you a list of the words that you can check game-by-game &/or alphabetically.

Note that the 1st game in the archives is marked as #0. This game was played on Jun 19, 2021 and the 2nd game which was played on Jun 20, 2021 is marked as #1. Some achive sites may not mention Game #0.

Here are 2 examples of the 1st type of Wordle archive:

I have a complete list of all of the games played since the start of the game on Jun 19, 2021 because I've played all of them (about 100 retroactively) & record the results for each game that I've played on a spreadsheet.

I've done it a couple of times before but I never bother to check the list of past words used anymore and prefer to play each game "cold." I don't consider doing so "cheating" but IMO it's unncessary if you're already using the necessary logic to play the game successfully.

If you play the game daily and are keeping track of your scores (which I think you should do), you'll know if you're doing well by comparing your average to NYT average (the average of all players as reported by WordleBot) that I've posted with every game played since the NYT's editor took over on 11/7/2022.

The NYT average currently is: 3.95.

--------------------------------------------

FWIW, everything you want /need to know about the game -- the answers and/or how to better play it -- is available on the Net.

Just "Google" what ever it is you want to know.
