On Playing Wordle . . .

I've seen this said on here before, and I've never been quite sure what it means, can someone explain it to me please?
If you play on Hard Mode, you have to use any green and yellow letters in subsequent guesses, so if you end up with a letter combination like "STA__" or something like that where there are >6 options for words with that starting arrangement, you don't have the ability to use an eliminating word to try and narrow it down by ruling out other letters, since you are required to use S, T, and A.

That makes sense thanks.
I guess I never thought of not using the found letters but now I can see how that could help at times.
