On pocket clips and car doors

This has been a big problem for me concerning my wife's car seat. It's a bucket seat and I carry on the left side so when I was getting in it put a scratch each time. It looks like I got in and out about 200 times before I noticed. She hasn't noticed it yet but I know what the culprit was. As a result I am also developing the protected hand maneuver.

I tried the shrink tubing after it was mentioned on an earlier BladeForums thread. It worked for a few weeks but developed a slit and looked bad. It's easy enough to put on, maybe this is still an acceptable solution.

I like the idea of moleskin but I bet it has it's detractions after a bit of time. I picture the glue stuck on the clip picking up lint with the moleskin slowly coming off.

I would like to see a plastic covered clip from the manufacturers. If everyone is learning their lessons the hard way, alot of damage is being done. I'm not ready to go back to digging through my pockets to solve this problem.

Yeah, I agree with Marcus here

Yes! Drop the burrito...

My integral-clip Endura gets a lot of pocket time. I just wish it were tip-down....

haven't scratched a car yet, but I have gouged the back of a friends mom's dining room chair.

I've been really careful when sitting leather chairs and car seats.
