forged W2 11 3/4 x 1 3/4 x 5/16 at the tang. A model I refer to as "another screw up in the making":D The tang is still ridiculously large.....5 3/4 long, but i haven't decide if I am going to thread it yet. My thinking on this knifeis along the lines of a Bagwell, but with a straight oval guard and ferrule in 1018 as opposed to the curved Hell's Belle guard. The clip is straight for now, but i will probaby give is a slight curve when I finsih it up.
 
a beautiful knife in the process, If the handle is half as nice as the handle is, it will look awesome.
 
You go Joe! That thing is awesome. Take your time finishing it, so that it's your best work to date.

I have two large bowie knives forged that are hanging on my "in process" wire that's strung across my shop. I want to work on them so badly, but I have two others that I need to finish up first.

I hear that. I have 8 blades in various stages of completion including this bowie and one slightly smaller, slimmer one and what may turn out to be a failry reasonable looking attempt at a Moran ST23. This knife will probably end up with a figured Engish walnut handle.
I'm kind of in limbo because i am waiting for my two new John Perry handle broaches to arrive. I had been using one that I got from Uncle Al, but the cutting head won't stay on tight, so it doesn't work all that well. This is the first time I have ever had an order backlog........Ok, it's only one order that is backlogged, but it's a start...lol. I sold my first two knives on British Blades and managed to get an order out of it for a little W2/amboyna hunter. To be honest, that hunter is probably my best work to date, but forging and grinding a 4 inch blade is a lot easier than a 12 inch one. This game starts getting fun when people actually want your knives, but now I have to actually finish knives on a consistent basis....;)
