On the fence over a Paramilitary 2...

Like everyone has said above it is a great knife, but...

Although i do like the clip itself, the positioning and chrome finish is just terrible. The knife doesnt ride very low with tip up, and the clip sticks out like a sore thumb, but that can easily be fixed by getting a clip made for it. I've had a few other issues with mine, but nothing that the warranty wont cover. Overall I would say go for it, it quickly replaced my Benchmade H&K 14205 out of my pocket.

If anyone would like shots compared to my warn mini barrage or bob t slipit let me know.

I know I am late to this discussion, but just curious to know what BM you carry? I carry both BM and Spyderco. I have yet to have a clip issue with any of them. I have a delica 4 FFG and the clip after a year and a half of heavy carry is like new. I know this is only my experience and it's impossible to rate every knife based on a single experience, but I would be interested to know what model of BM seem to have (better) clips?

Okay just read the thread now. You carry a mini grip. I have both a mini grip and a Para 2. Both have great clips and I don't think you would run into issues getting a para2. The Para 2 as you know is a bit bigger than a mini grip. I say pull the triger and get one. If you don't like it, I'll take it off your hands. :) Good luck.

Thanks, everyone! I'm pretty well sold on it, just getting the money together. I also love the looks of the Sage 1, but that's another story...

it's been mentioned on here earlier but........the screws on the para 2 grab onto steel liners, not the g-10. i own several and they're without a doubt one of my favorite knives. do yourself a favor.....get that!!

Buy the Para-2 (or, IMO, if you can find one, a Para-1 – my 1st choice); you won’t be disappointed.;):)

Don't be on the fence. Its a wonderful knife! If cutting and slicing ease mean anything to you at all you'll also find that when you do rotate the Para 2 into your daily EDC after carrying others from other manufacturers and/or makers that you will really appreciate the primary grind and edge research investment put into the blades they produce at Spyderco. Less perceived effort while making the same cuts using the Para 2 as you use for most other knives is not uncommon to hear regarding Spyderco. That's because Spyderco makes an exceptional high performance cutting tool paying attention to specific yet subtle details incorporated into their edge and primary grind techniques as well as their handle shapes and ergos for fit in the hand. No one that has handled a Para Military 2 is complaining about the handles believe me! They are designed with the idea of making short work of cutting tasks using higher end blade steels geared for cutting and edge keeping and handles that fit the hand like a glove optimizing grip and comfort. In this writers opinion the Para 2 is the most complete package Spyderco offers.

Get the knife. The Para 2 is one of the best models to come up from Spyderco in a long time in my opinion. I own two of them!

So about a month later I finally bit the bullet on this one. Just ordered from Blade HQ. Had a great experience with them in the past. Looking forward to it's arrival! Yeah, I know, took me way too long but money is tight lately. :P

The only knife I've really had problems with the clip bending/snapping on is the PPT. It's a single-screw design, so it looks neat, but just isn't as durable as the 3-screw flat clips.

Anyway, as mentioned, 3 screw in G-10 and steel liners is going to be MUCH more durable than screws in FRN. I wouldn't hesitate to pick up a Para 2 if that's what you're worried about!

have a benchmade ascent 835 m2hs & a Para 2 cpmd2------abuse them both & zero issues with either . really no need or desire for any other folders
