After an interesting week of two days without power and a raft of trees brought down by a micro burst(two of the damn jack pines just kissed the house without doing damage) I finally got a very delayed start....... A very tired delayed start..... It has been way too long since I spent that much time with my favorite Stihl saw..... For those familiar with my place and the rolling stock, just the tops cut very small to load compactly took well over a dozen Kubota loads(stacked over the cab) off to the burn pile...... Gotta brand new view of Chilhowee Mountain out of it...... Anyway, I will be having lunch with the CBear today and I will get to see Vik and Tara tomorrow night, then a mad dash to Napa for a fund raiser for pancreatic cancer research at my cousins winery..... Then Portland, two Montana stops and then Nebraska to see Steve Johnson, The Trades in Barlow and then back to the ridge in Tennessee........

I will be checking in but, probably not as often as I would like...... Have fun.....

You are a worthy road Warrior Uncle E!
Sounds like you'll be in good company on your travels.
Drive safe, have fun, and enjoy the wine!

At the very least, microbursts are a boon for one's firewood pile. Glad nothing fell on the house.

Happy and safe travels.

plenty of cold yuengling lager and sprecher cran-cherry soda in the fridge.
psyop & the Colonel are both on tap to meet us at the brewery for dinner Sunday evening.
see you soon - drive safe!

Have a safe trip, Mr. Becker.

.... sprecher cran-cherry soda in the fridge.

Sprecher soda is so tasty. Only place I can get it here in FL is my local ACE. I have to stop by there today to pick up a couple items....might have to grab a bottle of cream soda while I'm there....

Wow, I got tired just reading all of that!

Have a safe and rewarding road trip Ethan.

Godspeed.

Thank god your home is safe, that would've put a DENT in your plans! Jealous of all that road time... I love road tripping, miss the smell of pine trees too... All we have are swamp trees and palms down here in Florida. Have a great trip uncle e!

I have a great place for lunch when your in Nebraska, might have to drive a few hours East to Lincoln :)

Safe travels bossman, will be contacting you shortly regarding some of the things we talked about at the ridge.....good times there....

Hey Boss, always a good time when you come through! Sorry I forgot your bread, I'll bring it on your return trip! Thanks for the laughs.

I had a great visit with 1066Vik and Tara last night...... We met Psyops, The Colonel(Defender) in Lawrence(Kansas) at a very pleasant brew pub.....Quite decent beer, good food an excellent company..... Vik drove so I got to have a brewski which is always a plus....... I have been so lucky to have met so many really good people in our little piece of cyberspace......Incredibly lucky.......

Ethan

That's a lot of traveling you're doing Mr Becker. Be safe! If, in the unlikely event, you decide to visit East TX, I'd love to buy you a brewski!

Thanks Kerosene.......

East Texas is not on the itinerary this time around..... I will be coming back by way of Portland and Montana..... So you are just a wee bit off route!!!... LOL...... Mayhap if I go to Fisk's this fall?.....

I made 930 miles yesterday and will coast today and tomorrow ...... Green River to Salt Lake to Reno?......... The route thru Nevada follows the emigrant trail pretty closely and any time you get to thinking you are lean, mean and have attitude read almost any account of that experience, travel I80 and put yourself on an ox drawn wagon and weep for your manhood!!!!!!...

Ethan

If you ain't got pictures - it never happened.

If I didn't get it certified - I never got it!

:D ;)

930 miles?
wow. that breakfast really carried you a ways!
was good seeing you again - and you are always welcome here.
