Once again, I'm back to the ParaMilitary 2

As with many hobbies, my interest in knives has come and gone as I devote time to other things. Over the years I've been through a number of models from Chris Reeve Knives, Hinderer, Strider, ZT, Benchmade, Spyderco, etc. On several occasions I've sold most every modern folding knife in favor of carrying a single blade every day outside of my office job. That'll work out for a few months at best and BLADE show will come around or Hinderer will release a new blade grind. :o

Well, I'm back in that "one knife" mode again and for the fourth time it has come down to a ParaMilitary 2. The ergos, weight, blade grind, and slim profile of the PM2 have edged out a drawer full of $500+ knives once again. When I saw the latest edition in one of my favorite G10 colors I made the purchase. It arrived today and the others are on the chopping block.

Anybody else go through this?

Earth Brown PM2 arrived today - brand spankin' new! Thanks to Eric and Sal for the great design that keeps me coming back :D

It's been my "one knife" ever since I got into knifes a few years ago. Welcome back!

I am the same way, always go back to spyderco. Was on the ZT train for awhile but the pm2 just cuts so much better than any ZT I have, for my uses anyway. Just wish the PM2 was just a smidge smaller. I know there was a thread awhile back addressing the request for a "mini" pm2 and Mr.Glesser responded.

I'm still waiting for one to pop up. Might be wrong here, but its been out for what... 4 years now? And its still tough to get one! That in itself says its a good knife, the fact that everyone is trying to get one, literally!

Several vendors have had new ones recently.

I try to purchase in store, I dislike buying something without holding it first. I'm a guitarist, and I know from experience to never by something without seeing how you connect with it. There is always the chance of a fake as well, however if its from a trusted dealer it shouldn't be an issue.

I personally think I have bad luck with shipping knives as well. It may be the border since I live in Canada, first time I ordered a knife, I got the packaging mutilated, without the knife. I contacted the dealer I purchased from and they said there was an issue during shipping, and they'll send another. Never arrived. I ended up getting a full refund.
2nd time I payed through PayPal. Thankfully. I argued with the dealer whether or not the knife arrived (Never arrived, according to the dealer and the tracking ID it was delivered to my doorstep (or mailbox), and in my possession, However it wasn't. I ended up having to appeal to get a refund from Paypal. The dealership assumed I was trying to scam them I guess. I've only tried twice, and those are the last 2 times I'm ever going to try.

I don't want to have to deal with this BS again.

I agree. The PM2 is good enough to be preferred by many over a lot of more expensive knives. It s overall my favorite knife, though I still like to carry others in my edc rotation.

I have a hard time trying to figure out which one I want to EDC everyday. It's always a toss up between the PM2, military, delica4, gayle Bradley, emerson cqc7. But I will admit, the PM2 just feels right in the hand. Have yet to own a knife that feels the same.

I see how it could be my one and only knife. Although I'm really loving my GB and Military lately.

I've had mine for a week now, and I adore it. I was on the fence for a few days, but I fixed the 'notchy' feeling in the lock.

I don't know how it can be topped for the value. I thought the Delica was going to be tough to beat, but that is no longer the case, lol.

I am right here with you. It's like looking at all the young girls with the flash energy, then realizing that you have something at home that's better all around.

It has been a disheartening time recently. Realizing the search for the perfect EDC might have been overs years ago.

I got the PM2 as my very first and after that, i have no other spyderco that ever came close to the perfection. Everytime i tried to give myself the reason for another spyderco, its much harder for me to justified it whenever i compared it to paramilitary.

Groan! You guys are torturing me. I sold my PM2 to a friend because it is bigger than what I can carry, here. I have been sick about it ever since. I am going to have to buy another one, for certain.

I like these threads because they help me try and like the PM2. I mean, it is a great design.....I just always get a "meh" feeling compared to my Manix 2, Military etc.

Someday maybe I will get it.

My edc rotation lately has been a Sebenza, Para2 and Manix2 L/W. Lol,there's a good reason the Para2 sells out so quickly at retailers.

You're not alone. I haven't bonded with my PM2 quite like I have the Manix 2. Both awesome knives but, the Manix gets carried more. At the moment it's a take it or leave it knife for me so it stays stored. It was carried for about two weeks and I do keep trying to put it in my pocket but, it usually gets beat out.
