One BK-17 Thread to Rule them All

Why, I wouldn't think of it!:)

If you see me limping around with a wounded foot....don't believe the story that it was a mumbley-peg accident. They are just covering their tracks with deception. :p

I found some other small clip point knives to compare to the BK-17.

Short Ka-Bar

Of these three, the BK-17 blade design is the most conducive to fine, bushcraft type duties. The guard on the back of the Ka-Bar interferes with choking up. The Sog blade has that "choil that's not really a choil thing". It separates the blade from the handle by a significant distance, but is not shaped to accommodate the forefinger while choking up. Then the serrations further reduce the blade's usefulness in cutting wood.

All three knives have comfortable handles. In my hand, the Becker handle feels best followed by the Ka-Bar then the Sog.

Thanks for an excellent review...I can't get enough of looking at the BK17 pics. I've got one coming today and hope to have some pics up soon after I get it.

I appreciated the comparison pics, have a small kabar and shots of the 17 beside it really hits home how comfortable a user it would be.
