One Blade to rule them all . . .

I find that all of my EDC knives are one blade now. Even the new Slimline Trapper I won in mrknife's GAW. Its also the most expensive knife in the lineup by at least double.

Get yourself a #25. I love that pattern and would buy every different one, but they'd become safe queens. I got three this year and the GF took one for herself.

I forced a patina on one just make it mine and unique.

Might look into a GEC 47 Viper. Handle shape might look odd, but fits the hand like a glove. Wicked sharp pointy tip. Very thin and easy to carry.

This has been ruling my roost since I got it in October. Drop-point and Stag, fatal attraction.....

I was looking at the Vipers last night, and now I can't decide on my next knife: a Viper #47, a #71, a #83, or a #73.

Beautiful knife!

I got this old Case Blackhorn 3.5 for my dad for Christmas back in about 1984. He passed 5 years ago and I just ran across it again. It had never seen a stone. the old 3.5 had an interesting feature in that it was designed to allow one scale to swing away to aid in cleaning. They designed this to use in the field and allow for ease of cleaning so it would last a long time.

The Oeser Native! Is it a coping with belly? Whatever it is, it seems perfect to me. Now to find one lol

This just might be my fave so far (minus the shield). A LC at 3 ⅜" sounds perfect!

Here's another version of Brent's LC, in Ebony (African Blackwood? Gabon Ebony?).
The wood is a rich buttery smooth black, in contrast to the streakier-colored versions. I like them both, but this one is nice!
The 3 3/8' length puts it securely in my watch pocket; a substantial blade in a compact package. Nicely rounded handle, blade centered, grinds nicely executed - it's a great piece!
The icing is the snap/pull: on opening, it is about a 5-rated pull, but from half-stop to full open, it's a 7.5 to 8!!
For me, this is perfect!! You won't shred your thumbnail, but the blade is very secure at full open. All knives should be this way!
You don't need gargantuan spring tension to hold a knife closed under most conditions, but it is nice to have it well sprung when it is in use; it just makes sense.
Thanks Brent! I've always wanted an LC, and this one's a great one!!

Ok, so my 2015 Forum Knife confirms things for me. I love my forum knife for many reasons, but it proves to me that a 3 - 3 ½" traditional is the right size for me. The 4" closed length of my 2015 Forum Knife just doesn't want to stay in my watch pocket.

So please keep posting your 3 - 3 ½" single blade knives for me!!

The GEC #25 patterns are hard to beat. This Elk Easy Open version eluded me for 5 years until one day I was browsing The Exchange at just the right time.

Mike Alsdorf makes some mighty fine knives in the 3 inch range.

whoa that is gorgeous! is that MoP or abalone?

Is that Alsdorf the one you got at the show last year? Hope you can make it this year.

It sure is, Mike and thank you. I see you have the show info posted in your signature line. I would certainly like to go. Not sure just yet though. I really don't need any more knives but I really enjoyed the show last January. The prospect of going to the next one is extremely tempting.
