no, just the acetylene, not the mix...

Oh Sorry. I guess you mean to introduce air in to get the flame rather than straight oxygen. I don't mean to talk out of turn, but this would be awfully expensive and if the flame is too acetylene rich, there will be a ton of soot.

Sharp Newbie, Have you tried map gas? I had a modified 2 brick forge simular to the one in the link before I made a forge from an old helium tank. I was using just a small propane bottle (plumbers set up) and could never get it up to heat. I tried map gas and it worked great. It still takes a while to get up to heat but it might help you out if you don't want to spend the money right now to build a new forge. Just a thought.
