One Busse to rule them all ?

Instead of asking the typical " which Busse should I buy " question I would like to know which one you would buy and why. Keep in mind you can only have one. I REALLY like the BM and all its versions and the Tankbuster is 2nd on the list. I have read threads thats say the ASH or NMSFNO are the best for new Busse owners. If you had the chance to pop your INFI cherry all over again, what knife would you choose and why?

NMSFNO - large enough to chop well and be a great all around camp knife, small enough that it's actually reasonably practical to carry it.

If I could only have one it would be the one I have now, the FBMCG because IMO it's the perfect size to carry and it chops like a chain saw. I mean wood chips just go flying everywhere and it bites very deep. I feel the 10" blade is perfect for me and the weight and balance of the knife(blade) works great for me. :D:thumbup:

The FFBM....... GIRTH!

I like the looks, the size, and the feel of the knife. It will do anything you ask it to do, and then some.

An excellent knife and truly one of my favorites.

However ... the SHBM. Hands down. It's lighter and livelier in the hand, but chops extremely well. It just screams "Busse" to me. The only drawback? The price ... :(

SHBM ? steel heart battle mistress? forgive my ignorance.

edit: SH straight handle. -e ergo handle. ok

Well they are all INFI right? That's means it's all good and what is left is personal opinions. :D

Please forgive my forgetfulness.

Yes, the Straight Handled Battle Mistress. I blame Cobalt for getting me hooked on this knife. Darn his rotten old hide!!!!;)

Here's an available picture of this wonderful knife:

This was a small part of Cobalt's epic collection of SHBMs.

I got a few.:);)

Just for fun, here's a pic from an old article many Hogs will recognize:

But if it had to be just one, I agree with OP.

I'm more into slicing than chopping(I may be the only Busse owner to say that:o) so I'll say my ABA LE.

The SHBM's were really light weight right, like 19 ounces and an inch shorter overall length than the FBM's if I am reading correctly?

If it wasn't for my chopping obsession, I'd probably be right there with you.

That is one great knife!

Ankerson: I just compared a CG FBM to a SHBM to be sure ... but SHBM (a 1/300) was actually just slightly longer in the blade. It is lighter, of course.

Where did all the weight go then? Is the blade narrower than the CG FBM, we are talking over 8 oz difference in weight.

You know what this blade reminds me of? I know it's bad, but it looks like beefed up bigger Trail Master in the blade profile, I dunno maybe it's just me being crazy and I have had 3 of them. LOL
