One criticism of Paramilitary 2...

Use it as a Spyderco, not like a Busse.

Busey?

How long does it take to tighten a pivot screw? I wanna know what happens!

What I've heard is that the pivot bushing can't get tight enough to remove all side to side play on some units because of how a pivot bushing works. You can only tighten them so far and if "so far" isn't far enough, you get side to side play . . .

Sorry guys.

I finally got around to getting a torx driver. I was able to tighten the pivot and get rid of the play, while still allowing the blade to be flicked open.

I was also able to tighten the pivot so that it was very tight opening and closing.

Overall I am very happy with the knife. It's big and extremely sharp. Closed retention is awesome, which is very important to me for such a big knife. It also flicks open and closed very fast. (I think it would be much faster with thumb studs, but then you would lose out on ergonomics.) Also if I had to nit pick, the g10 is a bit slippery, and it is dangerous to try and close the blade using your left hand (if someone has a good method, let me know).

I am a lefty and can easily close my para 2. What I do is that I pinch the metal tab with my thumb and pointing finger. And flick it close.

All this makes me wish mailman would already bring my Para-2... I hate waiting but it seems Para-2 is well worth of waiting.

Ain't it the truth!? I can order a knife I'm not all that gun ho excited about but just want and get it in a day or two days time but every time I order one I really just can't wait to get my hands on the thing ends up taking five or six days some way some how! :grumpy:

:D Busey has some awesome teeth.

I am waiting on mine from yourcornerstore.com they bumped my backorder to Sunday Sept. 05 :grumpy:. It will be my first Spyderco and maybe not my last.

The distal taper of the blade is a bit too extreme, IMO, for this knife's intended purpose. I could easily see snapping it off under hard use.

Isn't the blade steel supposedly really strong? I don't see it breaking unless you are prying. But I personally don't mind the tip breaking - I say it gives it some character. Wouldn't mind having a shorter blade either.
