One day I'll find an Emerson Rhino

CQC-9 to me don't look like the Rhino?

I have seen a few on the green forum on Commanders. I said recurve but I meant to say the up sweep.The belly is smoothed out and the up sweep can be more pronounced than you could with an 8. Not saying it can't be done but I haven't seen it. I don't consider myself an expert.
 
Meant no disrespect Screamin, I'm no expert either. Just wanted to clarify. :)

I think I've seen a conversion 8 on AZCK made into a rhino. I'll see if I can find a picture.
 
The 9 is an awesome design:) my favourite design from Ernie.

The CQC-16 looks like it'd be a good platform for a Rhino-conversion too.

He may be a business man, but from what i understand he's also a man who has values. If your assumptions were true, wouldnt he have given the 6 design to benchmade when they first asked for it? Wouldn't he have put the 6 into production for EKI? I don't think there are many people on this forum who wouldn't buy a production 6 if it were released for sale. My guess is that the 9 and Rhino are as special as the 6 to him. I could be totally wrong about all of this, since I'm not Mr. Emerson himself.
EmersonRep would be a big help here since were all just speculating!

Well I was expressing an opinion, like when I said people write a letter to EKI.
 
Nick, I thought there were an original 3 and others made after the fact. I should read more and post even less!
 
Guys, I feel your pain but the Rhino will never be a production because every single one that is made is hand ground by Ernest himself and they're a B*#% to make. These models are sacred and ultimately it up to him to make a 9 production but I just don't see it happening. As for the 6? Not going to happen, production wise anyway. Sorry for the bad news. It has nothing to do with making money either.

Bad News is better than no reply. Also there are other Emerson models for sale today by EKI, so go order something new you do not have to make you feel better.

Might get me a Left Handed Commander with Serrations, if I can cut loose of some money.

Plus the Commander is a very versatial blade design IMHO.

It takes a lot of patience to find a nice CQC-9 or Rhino (deep pockets, as well).

Especially one with micarta (oh my) or G10.

Mr. Weiland did a very small run of Rhino-like customs. They are about 10% larger in every respect, with very thick stock used for the blades. Again, very hard to find.

 
Patience I have. Deep pockets, not so much. I still want a CQC-9, even a production one would be fine.
