One fixed blade, one Folder, and that's ALL!

Guess being limited to two, I'd stick with more efficient cutters with versatile blade shapes, that perform best at the things I typically use a knife for, and leave chopping, prying and driving screws to more appropriate tools.

The folder? An SAK, obviously; the bigger the better. My current is a Victorinox Swisschamp.

Fixed? I only own two: a CS Trailmaster and a Fallkniven A1. Of the two, I'd take the A1. Given the choice, I'd probably go down to a 4" blade and take the Fallkniven F1.

Folder: small Sebenza
Fixed: BK&T 9

Dream pair:

Folder : small Sebenza
Fixed: large CRK Green Beret

Fixed would most likely be one of my HI khuks ( YCS ). With that knife I get a great chopper and slicer, plus it comes with two great karda (smaller knives).
With all that in my fixed blade package, I would go with my SAK Rucksack as my folder. It has the longer knife and saw blades. A locking main blade and all the other tools I would normally want. My Champion has more features but I really love the extra length of the blade and saw on the Rucksack.

I think that the khuk owners would have to choose either the khukuri or the karda, but not both, for their fixed blade.

Folder: Spyderco Dodo
Fixed: Himalayan Imports Garud Ang Khola khukuri

Busse Straight handled Badger Attack for fixed
Large Classic Sebenza for folder

Maximum versatility

Busse Straight handled Battle Mistress for fixed
Large Classic Sebenza for folder

I own more than a few Busse blades, but only one folder (Sebenza). I do carry both a fixed blade and a folder. For fixed right now, it's easier to conceal something under 5", but if it was a 1 only, I'd go with the largest fixed I have (BM) and of course the Sebbie.

This is choosing from what I have. Not sure what I would choose if money wasn't a option. Maybe the samething.

From what I have currently it would be a Fallkniven F1 and a large regular Sebenza.

I'm really a folder kinda guy andd have been paring down my collection to a few high end gent's folders (William Henry) and plan to own no more than 7 or so customs. Of my four custom folders in my collection, the most perfect has got to be the Scott Cook Lochsa. While it's a bit big for my workday needs, if I could only own one, it would be the Lochsa.

The fixed blade is a tough one for me as I don't know much about them. I only own one, a < $20 CRKT Carson designed F4 that I use as a letter opener, albeit a very sharp letter opener. If I had to choose a fixed blade, it would likely be something small (3" blade length or thereabouts). Makers that come to mind that I've thought about owning include something by Mike Snody, Scott Cook (the small Owyhee hunter, perhaps) or Bob Dozier.

Again, a tough but good question. It certainly gets me thinking.

I bought both of these knives at my first Blade Show in 2001, the folder is my Carson model #4 in Stellite & Stag, the fixed blade is my Ed Fowler Pronghorn. I consider both Kit & Ed as dear friends, which only adds to their personal value to me. I've said it many times if I my plane had crashed on the way home from that Blade show I would have died a happy man.
