Between my recurring back problem (can only work a few hours a day ) and playing catchup on my cowboy trappings orders well I finally got a chance to do a frontier sheath...
The "Knife" is by mi amigo Dana Acker of Acker Forge.
This "Knife" is for those who like them hefty - 1/4" thick x 8 1/2" Blade (to end of antler), Overall length is 15" - the grip is an elk leg bone wrapped with rawhide and hemp cord - weight 1 lb 3 ozs - a real handful, but VERY well balanced - Dana can make them big but he does it right! a great camp knife.
The sheath is buffalo rawhide over an oak tan core - the fur is buffalo and the snake is Montana rattler - rattles and all - the heck with words here's the pics
Hope ya'll enjoy looking as much as I enjoyed making...BTW - Buddy is the owner of this piece
