It's a lanyard bead. You thread paracord through it and put it on your knife. This is a custom I had WillyDigger do for me. I put it on a CRK snake head style lanyard. Handy for grabbing the knife out of my pocket. And it looks good too.

They come in many shapes and sizes and styles. I think WillyD's Villain skull is one of the best skull designs out there.

I've only got one lanyard with a bead (an Atwood bronze one, which I actually got in another giveaway here some time back). Currently, I have it tied to the end of my Dragonfly.
