I completed this one tonight - I promise I will stop posting EVERY one of these that I make.... some day! ;)

I took some liberties so I hope Ira is cool with it. I put some Celtic embossing on the dangler and the firesteel holder.

I also put a retention portion to the welt (not pictured) so there is two extra stitches in the back that are out of the normal stitch channels. I also added a larger lanyard tube - normal ones are 3/16th - this one is 1/4. I wanted to add it to match the large lanyard tube in the handle.

I hope he likes it.

This knife will NOT come out of the sheath on accident - I promise! ;)

By the way - Andy smoked this knife. I liked the handle material and the grinds are well done!

That is all kinds of slick. I'm both impressed and excited! Can't wait to experience this level of craftsmanship.

great work once again TF... i like the design around the firesteel loop...

I'm getting tired of being impressed.

Everything you have done so far, has turned out very well, so I'm going to quit complimenting you, and instead wait for the piece that I can find some fault with.

BTW, I really like sheaths with square bottoms.

Cheers, bro.

Nice looking sheath. Mind if I ask; How do you do your fire steel loops? Thanks,

Heber

Wildman - there is atleast two ways. - Two peice - make the firesteel loop seperate - skive the welt and simply glue it in place prior to stitching - or - cut the welt with a large 'ear' off to one side that you skive and fold over - glue and then stitch.

Does that make sense?

Unless you meant the celtic embossing - that is a embossing wheel sold by Tandy and placed in an overstitcher.

The information makes sense to me, thanks! :) Your first example is one way I thought of but have not tried yet. Good to know it works.

Sweet! The stitching looks great. It's a challenge to keep the thread from discoloring that I haven't solved unless I complete the sheath and then go back and re-stitch it with new thread.
