I hope Tony likes this one. I took a gamble here. Tony wanted a sheath for his Walt passaround knife and I made him one. He was open on the color and others things - so I decided to try and make a showcase piece for him. I think the true test of a leather worker is when nothing is hidden behind stain or paint - just raw leather.
So - I left this one raw. I finished it, sealed it on the inside to help prevent water damage, then used about 5 coats of neatsfoot oil, let it dry in the sun (to get a little color in it) and then added a sealant to the outside. To keep a piece clean while working with a drill press and glue is a challenge - but I was determined to get it right for TonyM. He has allowed quite a few of us to handle knives that we would not otherwise get a chance to by organizing passarounds.
Here she is Tony - I hope you like her bro. She ships next week.
That last picture is all off color - sorry.
