Integral Guard Bowie by Rodrigo Sfreddo

Blade: 8" damascus steel- Handle: Premium Sambar scales

This knife has a very interesting construction. The blade, tang and guard were forged from one single billet, making it an integral piece all the way. The pattern is Rodrigo's ladder pattern and the handle is a great looking set of Sambar scales in coffin design. The sheath is a great looking piece on it's own. The frog button is damascus and has nice filework on it. It is hand sewed with cow leather and has a high inlay of shark skin made with Rodrigo's original technique.

Rodrigo Sfreddo is an intensely talented bladesmith, and his talent clearly shows in every example of his workmanship.
 
Saw this beauty when I got my email today. The wife said no!:mad:
One of my favorites from Rodrigo so far.
 
It was bought less than 15 minutes after the mail notification was sent.

What do I like about this piece? Hmm.

1) The you-sure-don't-see-this-everywhere integral fighter guard; :eek:
2) Very nice damascus - the ladder pattern always has been and always will be one of my very favorites;
3) Gorgeous stag;
4) Outstanding sheath (for makers that do their own sheaths, Rodrigo is way up there, IMHO).

Wulf got it right - he is one "intensely talented bladesmith".

All I have left to say is... come to Papa. ;)

I've personally never heard "all that piece needs is a Spanish notch", but have sure heard "WHY did he put a Spanish notch on THAT"?:eek:

Superb workmanship, but that aesthetic flushes it for me.

That's an amazing piece. He is a very gifted maker, both for his eye and his skilled execution. I am most impressed! :thumbup: :D

That is an impressive intregal. I have liked the Sfreddo pieces I've seen lately.
 
Rodrigos work is fantastic. This is great piece.

I have recently taken delivery of one of his Art Nouveaux pieces and it is stunning ... his skill is just getting better and better.

Jeff - count me in as another one who did not receive any notification.
