• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

I was ask to share more of my work. This is a Candle End folder that I sold at the AKI. Thank you for looking.K05436-Taylor_C_Gray__3398.jpg

Just received a pm about the handle on this folder. It is antique tortoise inlaid with 3 color gold, rose, green and yellow. I do the inlay and Tim George does the shading on the flowers.

Amazing. Reminds me of a tattoo but better.

Beautiful piece of work. I saw it at the show. Glad to hear the details about the handle as I didn't get a chance to ask Gray in San Diego.

It would be great to see more of your work on the forums, Gray. Absolutely top notch stuff!

I have a really difficult work schedule until mid-November--lots of grant applications to write. So I spend less time on the forums.

That is the only explanation that I have for myself as to how and why I missed this the day it was posted.

Of course, this is a beautiful knife--every single aspect of Gray's work shows such skill and attention to detail that it boggles the mind. I love these kinds of patterns, and there are so few who can and are willing to make them these days. Making a slipjoint that functions as perfectly as many of our makers do--that seems to me to be quite a talent. Making these patterns must be a step beyond.

Every so often, I browse through his website (just Google C. Gray Taylor) and dream. Even people who don't have the knife gene--those who don't care at all about knives---who see me looking at those on the site "oooh" and "aaaah" seeing those knives. I hope to see the ones from this year's AKI up there soon.

Ed, Sorry about the loss of your grant. These should be on my website soon. I also posted my first multi-blade miniature a few days ago. Thank you for your kind comments. http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=689326

Gray, thanks for the wishes, but that actually was a typo. I was trying to write "lots of grant applications to write". I have since edited. I shouldn't post so early in the morning.

We are still waiting for you to pay a visit to the Holy Land. ;)

Gray,

Just incredible. Like Ed, your site is a frequent spot for me to visit. Thank you for showing us that knife.
