Should I buy one good knife or a whole lot of cheaper knives?

I own about a dozen pocket knives. My collection keeps growing. I recently bought a Benchmade 630. The Skirmish is awesome. I got it to help curb my knife buying habit. I thought if I got a really nice knife I wouldn't need to get anymore knives. Unfortunately, having such a nice knife has want more high quality blades.

I don't want go overboard, so for the next 3 months I have about $200 bucks in my budget for knives. Should I get something high grade like a ZT, Bradley Alias, a Rukus, or a Military, Or should I buy a few CLB Bokers and the ultra presidio spread over time.

people tend to get their fix whenever they feel low.
can't imagine a knifenut goin' thru life with a single high.
but, if liquidity is no problem for the long term - don't ever sell yourself short with stuff that won't amount to anything more than a passig fad with no future value.

Knives get used. They get lost. They get worn.

I'm only willing to put a certain amount of money at risk. So that is the amount that I spend on any one knife.

Here is two good knives

ZT 0300 for as heavy duty as it gets
Bradley alias.. Slices better than a sebbie.. And smoother in my experience

These two make a great EDC combo IMO

If you have knives that suit your needs, I'd save up and buy the high end knives you really want.

As long as your bills are paid and your priorities are straight, no reason not to spend any excess on what you want. Besides, saving for a big purchase makes it all the sweeter when you attain it.

Oh, and don't let anyone else define what you want. Get what makes you happy.

Use caution. The longer you are in this game, the more you will be willing to spend. I remember when 12 dollars was a lot, then 25, 75, 100... and now 500. Anyhow,I've always found it better to save for the knife I want at the time, than to settle for lesser knives because I eventually get the one I want anyhow. I actually save money by not purchasing the quick fixes..

I agree.
I am in the same boat, I am finding myself selling off prodution knives that hardly ever carry to buy higher end knives that I will carry and use.
