Hey guys, I thought I would share my latest sidetrack.
I am calling these one handed tetsubo although I will likely do some 2 hand versions as well.
Right now I am mainly making them from Cumaru hardwood, which is extremely dense!
I am giving them a nice scalloped texture. All of these will vary slightly.

I building and taking orders for these now.
Standard is 20" oal. They weigh in at appx. 9.5 oz and balance half way up the length.
They are appx. 1" thick at the thickest point.
These are ellipse shaped and index well in the hand.
Right now I am doing black or cotton wraps. They are epoxy soaked for great durability.
Pricing is $140 shipped in the US.
Paypal or postal money order preferred.

Thanks for looking!

Those are very cool looking, Ben. I make furniture, so I'm always intrigued by how items like this are made.

Gouge? That would be a lot of work?

Spindle sander? Nah. Although, if you had an OWWM spindle sander, it wouldn't take much time. Do ya? A great big ol' Oliver? Pics please!

Shaper? If so, I applaud you. Fist sized bits spinning at 10k scare the heck out of me. Two of my buddies have short thumbs because of those bad boys.

Router? I'd rather use a shaper.

The wrap is beautifully executed.

Gary, who is on the Creek and OWWM.

Bandsaw and a belt sander with a small wheel arm.

A gouge wouldn't touch this wood!! Its crazy dense.
