One handed Flint and Steel as well as one handed fire piston

Just messing around with fire, practicing skills I hope I never need.

Nicely done. Haven't tried the fire piston one handed yet, and the only way I had gotten a coal one handed with the flint and steel involved holding the steel between toes and striking the steel with the flint...not the greatest thought in the winter months.
 
don't you just jab the fire piston into the ground? I did that and pulled it out with my teeth earlier and my wife yelled at me. Its the numyth one from going gear. I like your method more!
 
Not messed around with a fire piston, but that is about spot on how I used a Swedish fire steel. Just braced it with my foot, had the tinder at the base, then struck it with my good hand. Good skill to know, not that I have any choice :)
