Well, title explains it, I'm looking for a one-handed opening traditional/gent's folder, I need a little guidance!
assisted or just a flipper, it doesn't really matter that much.

Thanks in advance!

I'd say, a traditional 'one-hander' would be one arm man or maybe a russlock, even though I'd use a sheath knife if I need to be able to handle my knife one-handed.

But since your lookin' for an assisted opener or a flipper, I think your more likely to find something in the general forum.

Here are some links anyway:
The russlock

I think this is your best bet:
The trapperlock

I can open my Case/Bose Arkansas Hunter one handed. I pinch the blade partially open in my pocket and hit the seam on my Jeans with the tip of the blade. This is a learned method.

I don't recommend this procedure for eveyone.... YMMV......

Moving this over to "general" where it's a better fit and apt to get the most info.

You could try this. Case 6202...

I had a Kershaw Double-Cross and a Double-Duty and think you may wish to consider them.

Traditional looking, but with one-handed opening.

perhaps the benchmade shoki would be a good choice, assuming the styling is traditional enough for you.

A Case razor barlow would work nicely as well. It's intended for you to catch to blunt end of the main blade on the back of your pocket to open it. :)

I would highly recommend the Case mid folding hunter. A gorgeous knife for a gentleman. For a more tactical look, but easy to open, and close, with one hand, the Spyderco UK Penknife. For asisted opening, the Benchmade Mini-Barrage works great, and snaps open with the most impressive sound I've ever heard from this kind of knife.

I think that Mcusta has a number of classic looking gentlemen knives of superb quality. Mind, the designs are asian rather than western inspired.

Al Mar Eagle or Hawk Talon are some nice looking Gent folders with thumb studs and a choice of scales.

What about the Case Slimlock?

It can be a bit pricy, depending on the handle material, but it certainly fills the bill. :D

+ 1 on the spyderco ukpk or urban. Top of the line steel, legal most everywhere, one hand, spyderco quality. Cant go wrong.:)

Kershaw Double Cross or Double Duty. No clips, fippers or assist but they do open one hand with thumbstuds and lock with a liner lock. Very light weight.
