anyone have experience with a Russlock? I've only heard negatives about it...

It's... unique. For a light-duty knife it's just fine, but I personally dislike the leaf-lock for heavy use, since it can dig into the hand.

What about the Case Slimlock?

It can be a bit pricy, depending on the handle material, but it certainly fills the bill.

This would be my pick. I love this knife it is VERY smooth.

I have a Lone Wolf Paul Presto and love it. I had one in burl wood, traded it, and bought the ivory micarta one the next day. It has a bid blade for a little knife and looks like a gentleman's folder should look:

I think the best for you would be the Chri Reeve Mnandi!

+1. The Mnandi looks quite traditional, with the nail nick as opposed to a thumb stud; however, it employs the Integral Lock like the Sebenza, and due the geometries of the thumbstud relative the silky-smooth pivot, it opens one-handed quite effortlessly.

This one has jigged madagascar rosewood inlays.
