One Handed Opening

I read an earlier thread where the question of gadgets called "one armed bandits" was brought up. Someone responded that Buck had once made these. Are any still available, and if so, where could I get a couple for my 110's? If not, could someone recommend another source for good quality examples.

Thanks, Jay.

Jay,
Buck made something called a "flick it" which could be secured to the backbone of a blade with an allen screw. It was a thumbstud which facilitated one hand opening of the knife. It has been years since we offered them though and i am pretty sure they are long gone.
Sorry I could not help.

Joe, I appreciate the information. Tangus was kind enough to offer me one of his extras.

Thanks Guys,
Jay

Several years ago I happened to be the fortunate recipient of several of Buck's Flick Its. I Contacted Buck about making my 110 a one hander. I asked about drilling the blade for a thumb stud or some other way to make this knife easier to use with one hand and to my delight they sent me several clamp on studs of a much higher quality than other after market devices I had found. Now thanks to Bucks kind and thoughtful Service Department the Flick Its make my 110, a lightweight Browning, two older Pumas, and my sons 112 truly ambidextrous and almost as easy to open as any other one hander. JayHawk:

You can get one arm bandit at Smokey Mountain Knifeworks. Comes in two sizes, for different blade thickness'. Made by Company in Quebec Ca. I believe. Cost $5-$6 US. Hope this helps.
