I recently came across a sale thread by a maker named Randy Nance(rwn2000) who I had not previously heard of. I found a knife on his thread that tickled my fancy and went for it. The main factor in my decision was the price-$85(priority shipping w/ confirmation included!). Now the knife was simple and only had a 550 cord wrap so no fancy wood or anything but I like simple in a good usable knife. Here are the specs as listed by the maker: 9 1/2" OAL, 5" blade (tip to handle), 5/32" O-1, full flat grind, sanded to 800 grit, etched in ferric chloride. It included a kydex sheath with a decent kydex belt loop added, and he even wrapped the sheath in about 10' of paracord which was an awesome little extra.
So it arrived today and i couldn't be happier with it. It feels amazing in my hand and the cord wrap is very sturdy around the handle, yet comfy. The blade is very sharp and the patina is very cool, giving it a used and abused look. The sheath is sturdy and has good retention and the belt loop is better than expected too. I still can not believe that I only paid $85 for this knife!!:D This quality, even with only a cord wrapped handle could sell for double that, easily. And when it comes to Randy himself, he was a great guy who accommodated my wanting to have the knife by a certain day, by sending it to me before even receiving the money order:eek: I couldn't believe he did it but it showed me how much he cares about customer satisfaction, and a satisfied customer is exactly what he got.
I think anyone who wants a great knife for a hands down, unbeatable price should check him out. He was unknown to me a little over a week ago, but now I will be checking what he has available whenever i have a bit of funds for a new knife.
Well here's a few pics of this bad motor scooter:D

That is a great story. Thanks for posting. I always like to hear about people who are promoting quality and great customer service.

Mike, thanks for the kind words. I just started selling my knives about a year ago and i always try to treat customers the way i want to be treated when I buy a knife. And I don't remember shipping anything before I received the money order. :) That could be considered a bad business practice and not something I normally do.

oh yeah, you can't see it in the pics, but under the paracord, the sheath is drilled for multiple Tek Lok locations for added mounting options.

Thanks again

randy

I noticed the amount of holes when I unwrapped the cord. That will be great for tek-lok positions but I moved the belt clip you put on there and it will work ok in the scout position too.

Amen to that, BrewCityMike! I have 2 of his knives, one a necker and one a hunter style that came through with flying colors in a recent outing with severe weather and game processing. Randy is a great guy, super easy to deal with and contact, also an awesome sheath maker. He's got a really intuitive sense of design and workmanship. I'll buy this guy's stuff again.
