I don't know much about what SAR teams need, but with 3 knives you can cover small, med, and large blades.

B11
Ratweiler
Scrapper 5
 
Busse - CABJ (or CBJLE)
Scrap Yard - dog father
Swamp rat - Rat trap


When in reality I would bring a B11, CABJ and a leatherman charge. Lightest set giving the absolute fullest range of use.

waki? What qualities does the Waki have that you would actually carry it on a SAR event? I had one and while fun, it really didn't serve much more than that. Not an distinguished chopper, slicer, or anything to really make it stand out. Just curious why some would pick the Waki.......not trying to stir the pot.

My guess on the Waki is that it is as close to a Bussekin machete as you can get (production-wise)? I'm not sure I see the value in it myself.

Mine would be (assuming the title means we have to pick one of each):

Busse Axe (infi scagel? yes plz. I would absolutely love to see this produced for a ganza or something)

Well, there are many variety of Busse so you choose your Rat and Dog first. And of all the Rats, two stand out and that's the Waki and the Chopweiler. I chose to go with the Waki cause we have all see the videos and know what that blade is capable of. Next you pick a Scrap Yard, and the best that comes out of there is the 154CM and they never made that in a medium or large blade so I chose a nice and small one that we all know what they can do. So you have a large and a small, so you just need a medium and everyone knows that if you were to have only one, the NMSFNO would be it. So there you have it.
You never know what size you are going to need so you choose one of each...
 
We are all allowed our opinions-the last time I checked. Shouldnt critique someone's choice or pick. I wouldn't be bringing my waki to SAR either-but that's just stupid ol me and my .02

Who said anyone can't have an opinion.......and why can someone not ask "why" another person would make a choice for a certain knife. I was asking for clarity as to "why" someone would bring a sword for a SAR?! As was stated....I had one and didn't see the value in it as a SAR item. Maybe I missed something about it and was asking what others saw in it that was beneficial for SAR. Also stated...I wasn't trying to start shit, just asking it's value.

Tune the Sensitivity Meter down a bit.....it is usually pretty fun here.

I'd rather have it and not need it then need it and not have it. What if you needed something longer with a reach?
So what's the point in having two or all three in medium sizes? What can the Dumpster Mutt do that the HOGFSH can't? What can the Rat Mastiff do that the SHSHII can't do?
